Bengaluru engineer ACB Bale, who demanded a bribe to connect the apartment to electricity
An incident took place in Bengaluru where an assistant engineer was arrested while demanding bribe for providing electricity connection to an apartment.
ACB officials caught AE Hanumanthappa red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 1,30,000 at BESCOM office in Bensontown.
A resident of Bengaluru had filed a complaint alleging that he had asked for a bribe while applying for electricity connection to the apartment he had built in Benson Town Marappa Garden.
The complainant had applied online in October 2021 for electricity connection to the apartment. Thus, AE Hanumanthappa demanded a bribe of 3 lakhs from the complainant to provide electricity connection. Then he made a deal for 1.60 lakhs.
1.3 lakh out of 1.60 lakh from the complainant. The ACB officers, who conducted the operation while receiving the money, arrested the accused along with the witness, confiscated the money and continued the investigation.
